Summer presents women with the greatest options for their choice of shoes. The warm weather brings thoughts of pretty pedicures and fabulous sandals. If you’re shoe shopping for summer footwear to show off your favorite pedi, consider these four styles to round out your ensembles.
The Jute Wedge Espadrille
Jute is a great natural fiber that you see in a variety of summer shoes. Originally found only in the flat espadrille, you can find this material as the base of a flat form or wedge espadrille. A coveted warm weather essential, this shoe is chic, lightweight, and very stylish. You can choose a canvas upper as well as leather, suede, and denim. Those choice is really up to you. I have several pair of these summer classics but my most recent purchase are these Michael Kors Tibby Denim Wedge Shoes.
The Chunky Heel Mule
Another option I’m excited about is the mule. Such a simple but elegant design that’s easy to wear and beautifully stylish. Although there are several flat mules, I love a great chunky heel combining two popular trends. Mules are easy to work in your wardrobe and whether you choose a flat or heel you’ll find they’ll quickly become a shoe staple. While I have several pair of mules that will be worked into my summer wardrobe rotation, my favorite are these suede mules by Eloquii. The embroidered heel caught my eye and made these a summer must have.
The Flat Slide
Instead of your typical flip flop why not go for a cute flat slide sandal. Similar to the mule, these flat sandals are super easy to wear and come in a variety of stylish looks you can work in your current wardrobe. Choose a color, style, and fabrication that’s playful and fun or classic and tailored. These Nine West ruffle suede slides have a the perfect combination of fun and classic.
The Embroidered Pump
My absolute favorite shoe for the summer is the embroidered pump. Not only is this shoe a beautiful work of art, the versatility of wear will make it your go-to shoe. With an embroidered pump you have the benefit of multiple colors in the shoe allowing you to wear it with multiple pieces in your closet. In addition, if you’re wearing a monochromatic look you can add a pop of interest with an embroidered shoe. Similarly, if you’re wearing 2 or 3 colors in your outfit you can tie all of the colors together with the colors in the embroidery. Sam Edelman makes a great pump with sufficient padding in the shoe to make it a comfort fit. With the added embroidery you’ll have a winner with any of his options.
Live, love, shine!
